The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby, St James’s Palace has confirmed. All the Members of the Royal Family and the duchess’s family, the Middletons, are delighted: “The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news.”

Only six weeks after it went on display at the Buckingham Palace, more than 350.000 Visitors have come to see the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding gown, famously designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen. More than 500.000 Visitors are expected until October 3rd, when the exhibition will close down.
For the Royal Collection at the Buckingham Palace this summer looks to be a record year. This will also benefit the Royal Wedding Charitable Gift Fund, which receives part of the admission and gives it to charities chosen by Prince William and Kate. Continue reading ›

Michael and Carol Middleton, the parents of Kate Middleton, spent the weekend at Balmoral, Prince Charles’s private residence on the Queen’s Scottish estate. The invitation fuels speculation that the younger couple are poised to announce their engagement after an eight year courtship. An insider commented “This is the Middletons being taught to be able to join the royals at play.” The couple were invited as part of a “country pursuits” house party which Prince William hosts about once a yearin the familys retreat. Ten years ago Prince William and Kate Middleton have first met at St Andrews University in Scotland. While many of Kates friends are now married and starting their families, she isn’t even engaged. A German aristocrat claims to have inside knowledge that Prince William and his girlfriend Kate Middleton are planning to get married in July 2011, and that the exact date is already set but will remain secret. According to Eduard Prinz von Anhalt, the decision has been influenced by Kate Middleton, who pressured Prince William to marry her in the forseeable future, or she would break up the relationship. The Palace commented that these reports are “nonsense and speculation” and that no preparations are going on.
